Outstanding fish and chips. Large cod with small chips was the perfect late night snack for my traveling, hungry, family. Give this place a Michelin Star!

Upside:
Some of the best fish and chips in London I've had. Don't be put off by the Chinese owner - he knows exactly whether doing and the battered cod comes out perfect each time. Prices are also very reasonable too, and the shops very clean and grease free - shows the dedication to the shop of the owner.
Downsides: closes early some days, and wish they did some sides like mint peas and beans. Otherwise, no other complaints. -

Yes, we're not locals so can't comment on this vs all the other places we have not tried. What I loved are the huge portions and delicious fish at less than 1/3 the price that we had while inside the touristy parts of London. Mainly a takeout- has 2 tables, some seats and a bench you can wait for your food. Service is pretty speedy, and seems like lots of locals like to stop by here to grab a bite.

Finally got around to trying this fish and chips place. Clean, well lighted, friendly, good kalamari, fresh flowers on the tables (!), what's not to like?
Four stars because Yelp won't do 4 and a half.
